Volatile organic compounds, commonly referred to as VOCs, are organic compounds that easily become vapors or gases in room temperature conditions and are a very common air pollutant when talking about Indoor Air Quality (IAQ).  VOCs are emitted as gases from thousands of different products that range from paints and cleaning supplies to office equipment such as copiers and printers.  Some health effects include eye, nose, and throat irritation, as well as damage to the liver, kidney, and central nervous system.  <\/amp-fit-text><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The buildup of VOCs indoors can become a problem.  Without proper ventilation, or improper use of the sources listed above, levels could skyrocket to 100 or even 1,000 times the recommended levels. <\/amp-fit-text><\/p>\n\n\n\n
